As Week 16 opens, we return to our unknown universe.

In their journey across the country,

Kendrick Stark and Ellie have managed to make it all the way to Salt Lake City.

However, before they reached their final destination,

the two were ambushed and separated.

Narrator

Inside Saint Mary's Hospital, Kendrick Stark wakes from the attack.

Marlene

Welcome to the Fireflies.

Easy, you got hit pretty hard. Patrol didn't know who you were.

Kendrick Stark

Where's Ellie?

Marlene

She's alright. We have her and she's fine.

Marlene

We lost half our crew crossing the country.

I have five men whose only job was to protect me and I still almost got killed.

How'd you do it?

Kendrick Stark

It was her.

She fought like hell to get here.

Maybe it was meant to be.

Marlene

You did a great thing, Stark.

You did the right thing. And now, we can find a cure for this disease.

Kendrick Stark

Take me to her.

Marlene

We can't.

She's being prepped for surgery.

Kendrick Stark

What do you mean surgery?

Marlene

Our doctor thinks the cordyceps inside her has somehow mutated.

It's why she's immune.

He's going to remove it from her and reverse engineer a vaccine.

It's the cure for mankind, Kendrick.

Kendrick Stark

But the cordyceps grow inside the brain.

Marlene

It does.

Kendrick Stark

.....

Find someone else.

Marlene

There is no one else.

Kendrick Stark

No, fuck that. You find someone else-

The Firefly soldier knocks Kendrick Stark down to the ground.

Marlene

I get it. I was there when she was born, Stark.

I promised her mother I would look after her.

Kendrick Stark

...then why are you letting this happen?

Marlene

Because this isn't about me. Or her...

There is no other choice here.

Kendrick Stark

Yeah... you keep telling yourself that bullshit.

Marlene

March him out of here. If he tries anything, shoot him.

Don't waste this gift, Ken.

As Stark is escorted out of the hospital, he decides to stop.

Soldier

The fuck you doing? Keep walking!

Stark surprises the soldiers and manages to take their weapon away.

Kendrick Stark

Where is she?

Soldier

Fuck you!

Kendrick Stark

I don't have time for this...

Kendrick Stark fires the weapon,

killing the soldier and alarming the whole building.

Following a consequential first round matchup in the West Coast Cousins,

we are now down to the Final Four of the Kang Games!

We come to you live from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

for the Semi-Finals of FantasyMania XVII.

I'm Michael Cole here at ringside with Pat McAfee and Jerry 'The Kang' Lawler.

Pat, at the start of the season, 12 Fantasy Managers were eligible to win the Kang Games.

Now, we've whittled the competition down to 4.

And at the conclusion of this weekend,

the Championship Match of FantasyMania XVII will be determined.

How do you expect this weekend to go?

Pat McAfee

Well Michael, we have the four best Fantasy Managers remaining.

We saw impressive performances from both CFL and Justher this past Sunday,

and honestly, Cole, I think it's anyone's game.

We're gonna get our first look at Vincent Rhodes and Rockson Reigns in this year's playoffs,

and while Rockson Reigns is still the slight favorite, those lines have narrowed immensely

after the first round of playoff action.

Justher's stock has risen to an all time high after defeating John Seana 145.70-102.82,

and according to early Yahoo Projections,

it looks like we could see Loud Play Justin and Rockson Reigns in the finals.

Projections are one thing, but there is a reason we play the games.

Let's take a look at our remaining competitors.

This weekend, we have a big fight in the Semi-Finals

But trust me when I tell you that this year's Kang Games

is bigger than anything you've seen before.

It is a spectacle that I cannot wait to see, I am on the edge of my seat.

Now, I'd be lying if I told you that I know a lot about CFL.

My Wiseman has filled me in on all of the details that I need to know.

We've faced off twice earlier this season.

And let's call it what it is. He won the first matchup.

He shocked me, hell- he shocked the entire world when he beat me in Week 1.

But what happened after that?

What happened in our second match in Week 12?

You see, I've been in the ring with CFL and Josh Allen, and I know exactly who I'm dealing with.

I might not know everything there is to know about Chris Law, but I know enough.

I know that he can't beat me again.

You see, I've downloaded the data.

And there's nothing that CFL does that worries the Tribal Chief.

Do you understand? We're on a different playing field.

You see, Chris, you don't have enough skin in the game to mess with your Tribal Chief.

I've been doing this a long time, for me, it's muscle memory at this point.

I was playing Fantasy Football before you even knew what a football was.

Gosh, I can't wait to see what this supposed God Mode is all about.

Another cliched hype word used to make yourself feel confident.

He can say what he wants to say, but at the end of the day,

God Mode is going to get in the ring with the Devil Himself.

he's just another washed up loser whose had his time in the Sun.

and we have the entire Kang Games on lock.

we're gonna finish the job.

Rockson Reigns is a dinosaur, he's not the Tribal Chief, he's the Tribal Fossil.

Jahmyr Gibbs and Jonathan Taylor.

If either of them have a bad game, it's over for the Tribal Chief.

If they don't score 50 points, it's over for Rockson Reigns.

Meanwhile, I have the best running back in the game, CMC.

And then I have the reigning MVP, Josh Allen leading the helm.

I'm going into this Sunday's game as confident as ever.

CFL said it best, while my career is on the rise, Rockson Reigns is on the descent.

For the past two years, people talk about Rockson Reigns as if he's some unbeatable manager,

but the truth is, he's on the decline.

He's Patrick Mahomes.

He's had his moment on top and it was great.

But now, I'm the real best QB in the League

and CFL is the real best Fantasy Manager in the League.

I still intend to keep that promise.

But since that time, things have gotten interesting.

After back to back weeks of incredible performances from my opponent, Loud Play Justin,

and the arrival of Justher, I am now the underdog going into the Semi-Finals of FantasyMania XVII.

my entire body of work this season has put me on another stratosphere.

Another hype machine that they want to build up.

I've seen what you can do and I understand the danger that you present.

I'm just going to keep doing what I've done all season long and knock them down!

well, I've already slain every frightening beast put in front of me.

Kendrick Stark shoots Dr. Robert Neville.

Nurse

Oh my God...

Kendrick Stark

Unhook her... I'm not gonna ask you again.

Kendrick Stark takes Ellie and attempts to escape with her down to the garage.

Marlene walks into the garage, pistol in hand.

Marlene

You can't save her.

Marlene

Even if you get her out of here, then what?

How long before she's torn to pieces by a pack of clickers?

Or worse yet, attacked by a group of raiders?

Kendrick Stark

That ain't for you to decide.

Marlene

It isn't for you to decide either.

It's what she'd want. And you know it...

Marlene

Look... you can still do the right thing here.

Even after everything you've done, we can still find a way.

Marlene

She won't feel anything... and she'll be remembered as the savior of mankind.

Kendrick Stark takes a long look at Ellie

as he contemplates his decision,

give Ellie back to the Fireflies or escape with her.

We cut away to Stark driving away from the hospital.

We get a long shot of Stark, his face showing a sense of remorse.

As he continues to drive,

the audience is left in suspense, wondering about Ellie's fate.

Ellie

....what the hell am I wearing?

Kendrick Stark

Take it easy... drugs are still wearing off.

Ellie

What happened?

Kendrick Stark

We found the Fireflies.

Kendrick Stark

Turns out, there's a whole lot more like you, Ellie.

People that are immune. There's dozens, actually.

Ain't done a damn bit of good neither.

We cut back to Kendrick Stark and Marlene in the garage.

As Stark contemplates his decision, he decides to shoot Marlene.

Kendrick Stark

They've actually.. 

....

They've stopped looking for a cure.

Kendrick Stark

I'm taking us home.

A dejected Ellie turns her back to Stark and faces the backseat.

Kendrick Stark

I'm sorry.

As hear a gunshot as Marlene falls to the ground.

Stark places Ellie into the car as he comes back to finish the job.

Marlene

Wait.. wait.

Let me go, please.

Kendrick Stark

You'd just come after her...

Kendrick Stark shoots Marlene in the head, killing her.
