WCC Preview Episode 10: FantasyMania Championship

The pyros explode as we are live in Dallas, Texas for the final episode of WCC Preview.

Jim Ross
Good evening folks, I'm Jim Ross alongside my broadcast partner, Jerry "The King" Lawler.
And King, we are down to just two here in the final week in the West Coast Cousins.
In three nights, we will crown the 2017 WCC League Champion!

The King
And what a shocking final matchup we have, JR.
In Week 15, we not only got one upset, but TWO upsets.
We all thought the Permian Panthers and the T.C. Titans were destined to meet in the main event of FantasyMania.
But boy were we wrong.
It's the Flames versus the Mean Machine!
JR, I can't wait to see what happens this Sunday.

Jim Ross
There's no doubt about it, these two teams have fought their way to the top and in my humble opinion, I believe they both have earned this shot at the League Championship.
The 2013 WCC League Champion, Coach Rockson comes in as the slight favorite and would good reason. He holds an undefeated FantasyMania record of 5-0.
There's a reason he's known as Mr. FantasyMania.

The King
But his opponent is no pushover.
He's playing in his first Championship game in the West Coast Cousins and he'll be hungry for a victory.
So far this playoffs, he's performed the best.
Another strong performance in Week 16 and we're looking at a new League Champion.

[3] Mean Machine (8-5)

[5] Flames (7-6)

*Mr. McMahon's Music Hits*

*Crowd Cheers*

The King
Whaaaa....
JR! Take a look at this!
It's the Chairman of the XFL!
Mr. McMahon is in the building!

Mr. McMahon
Dallas, are you ready for FantasyMania?!

*Crowd Cheers*

Mr. McMahon
You know, this season has been a monumental season.
For the first time in our existence, our creative staff has developed an intriguing storyline that has stepped away from the confines of a WCC Ring.
I'm proud to say that this change of direction has brought new life to the WCC and has advanced our product in the way that the Game of Fantasies could not.
This year's story has been a success that has invigorated audiences across the world and entertained the WCC Universe in ways that I could never imagine.

Mr. McMahon
I would like to thank the House of Representatives to allow our forum to produce this content and renew our direction for the next few years.
I would also like to thank the WCC Universe for embracing this change and I truly hope that this year's FantasyMania lives up to your expectations.
At this time, I would like to send a message to one man....
President Trump....

*Crowd Boos*

Mr. McMahon
Donald, if you're watching, I want you to know that you have failed.
You have failed to censor our product and the XFL is stronger than ever before!
Donald, I want you to see how much better I am than you.
How much the XFL has grown since Week 1.
So Mr. Trump... I am personally inviting you a first row seat at FantasyMania so that you can see just how entertaining the XFL really is.
So what do you say, Donald?
Are you man enough to accept my invitation?

*President Trump appears on the Titantron*

President Trump
Vince.... Vince.... Vinny...
Hello? I have a country to run.
I have no time to watch your product.
As President of the United States, I respect the decision of the House of Representatives.
They voted to keep the XFL in commission and the XFL is here to stay.
Congratulations on your success and I wish you all the best moving forward.

President Trump
And to show you that I am sincere in my well wishes, I will be sending Vice President Mike Pence to Dallas, Texas this Sunday for the main event of FantasyMania!
And I hope you put on a hell of a show, McMahon!

Molly Wood
Welcome back to First Take.
Stephen A, Skip.... I think you two owe Max Kellerman an apology.
Both of your Championship predictions were incorrect and only Max was the only to correct predict the main event of FantasyMania.

Stephen A. Smith
I'll give credit where credit is due.
Max Kellerman, you did predict this very matchup.
But I still believe the T.C. Titans are the better team.
They didn't show it on Sunday, and the loss of Leonard Fournette certainly hurts.
But I'll admit it when I'm wrong.
The  Mean Machine deserved that win.
My only regret is that we won't get to see the biggest Championship ever in WCC history.
The Manny Pacquiao vs. Floyd Mayweather of Fantasy Sports.
The Permian Panthers taking on the T.C. Titans.

Max Kellerman
Well Stephen A. if you're in the know like I'm in the know.
Then you know you can see watch the "Match of the Century" between the Permian Panthers and the T.C. Titans on the undercard for this Sunday's Championship Game.
It just won't be for the Championship title.

Stephen A. Smith
Max! C'mon man! You gotta stop breaking the 4th wall.

Skip Bayless
Stephen A., Max Kellerman.
I am in total disbelief that we are getting the Flames vs. the Mean Machine.
I don't want either of these teams to win after the crap I saw on my television screen.
The Permian Panthers were SCREWED out of the Championship match.
Balor? From out of no where? Taking out the Permian Panther's best player?
And the Panthers only lost by 1 point?
The Permian Panthers should be in the Finals and I am very disappointed that we were ROBBED of crowning Coach Covfefe has a 4x League Champion.

Skip Bayless
But low and behold, we are here.
The Flames versus the Mean Machine.
I don't buy into the hype of either of these teams.
But if I had to pick one, I'm going with the Flames.
Undefeated at FantasyMania.
Beat MY Permian Panthers in a FLUKE win.
You're looking at the 2017 League Champions in the Flames.
Drew Brees and company will torch that Mean Machine defense.
Coach Rockson will remain undefeated and join Coach Joyce, Covfefe, and Coach Ken as a multiple time League Champion.

Stephen A. Smith
I've got to agree with Skip on this one.
The Flames simply look like the better team.
I can't bet against Coach Rockson's undefeated streak.
Mr. FantasyMania will live up to the name.
Melvin Gordon wins MVP and carries the Flames to a second League Championship.

Max Kellerman
I'm sorry to say it, but you are both wrong again.
I said it from the very beginning of the playoffs, but the Mean Machine are the best team in the entire league.
They've gotten hot at the right time and they've scored over 119 points in each of the last two games.
It's about time we got a new League Champion that's never won before and here it is.
Coach Jesse finally fulfills his destiny and gets the monkey off his back.
Mean Machine are your 2017 League Champions.

Molly Wood
Well there is no question about itArithere is a lot of mixed opinions on this Championship game.
And Vegas has the odds very close just days before the Championship game.
It should certainly make for an entertaining game.
We go to Ariel Helwani who spent the week asking others around the league who they think will be the 2017 League Champion.

Ariel Helwani
Thank you Molly, Ariel Helwani with the WCC Hour.
And I just want to say, I spoke with many Fantasy Managers and fans of the league throughout the week and like Molly said, there is a running theme going on.
Many fans are split on who think they will win and who they want to win.
It should make for a very tight contest and it's really anybody's game on Sunday.
Unfortunately, I was unable to reach Coach Stealthy.
His whereabouts are unknown as this time and his team failed to get back to me when I tried giving them a call.
With that said, let's take a look now at some of the responses I got during the week.

Sarcastaballs
I think both Fantasy Managers are very good.
If I had to pick, I'll go with the Mean Machine.

\

Xzibit
Ah, that's a tough one.
I think both teams played hard and whoever scores more points is gonna win on Sunday.
I'll go with the Flames.

SCGD
Who the hell is Rockson?
Honestly, I want them both to lose.
If I'm not winning, or at least a Seattle cousin isn't winning, then I don't care.
Rockson isn't a West Coast Cousin, so I'm picking the Mean Machine.

Ariel Helwani
Baugh, Baugh. Just a second of your time.
Who do you think is going to win on Sunday for the WCC Championship?
Flames or Mean Machine?
Also, do you care to respond to Tyrese?

The Baugh
Well, first of all, Helwani.
Know your role and shut your mouth.
Jumanji in theaters this Friday.
Go check it out. Take your friends, take your mother.
Go watch Jumanji.
Greatest movie about a board game ever.
And The Baugh can guaran-damn-tee you this.
The WCC Universe is going to be entertained like no other.
I live for the WCC.
The WCC will always be home to the Baugh.

Ariel Helwani
Will you be back next season as the head coach of the Mustangs?

The Baugh
I can't commit to anything right now.
I've got a real busy schedule and I'll have to check with my agent.

Cam Newton shrugs his shoulder.

Cam Newton
Man... I don't know, bro.
Flames... Mean Machine.
Who cares?

Cam Newton
All I know is I would be playing this Sunday if Coach put me in.

Ja Rule
You know what I'm saying is... when you got two really good Fantasy Football teams, they're gonna go really far in the WCC Playoffs.
And that's what we have, man.
The Flames and the Mean Machine.
You got some really good football players on both sides.
Kareem Hunt.
Drew Brees.
Melvin Gordon.
Ju Ju Smith Schuster.
My prediction is we're gonna get some fireworks.
Both teams are gonna score some Fantasy points.
Believe that.
You know what I'm saying?

Coach Ken
What did you say to me?
Mean Machine or Flames?
What are you, crazy?!

Covfefe
You know, I'm actually glad the season is over.
No more stressing over who to start and who to sit.
Meeting expectations.. adding multiple players on the waiver wire every week.
It became an exhausting process.
And now I can focus on the things I really want to do.
Like save the world.
I think it's about time someone stepped up to this administration.
It's time we clear the deck and just put women in positions of power.

Ariel Helwani
As you can see, a very mixed bag of opinions for this Sunday's Championship Game.
And we are no closer to answer the question of who will be the 2017 League Champion.
I guess we'll have to tune in Sunday night to find out.
Back to you.

ESPN continues it's coverage of media week in the XFL.

Coach Ken watches in disdain.

Coach Ken
Can you believe these sons of bitches had to nerve to ask me who I think will win on Sunday?
Can you believe it?
What the hell is going on?

Tom Brady
Our plan is proceeding as expected.

Coach Ken
Do I look like I'm headlining FantasyMania this weekend?
Your passes to the endzone...
They didn't work, my friend.
And now I'm playing in a fucking 3rd place game!

A couple of trucks pull up.

Coach Ken
What the hell is this?

Coach Ken crawls out of his vehicle.

Coach Rockson
Well. Here we are.
3 nights away from our finest moment.
Gentlemen, you've come a long way since Week 1.
I'm watched you grow.
When I first stepped foot in this building.
You were boys.
Now, you're men.

Coach Rockson
I couldn't be more proud of you guys.
And I know that on Sunday, you're gonna give me your very best.
On that football field, we have a chance to be legendary.
To cement on our name among the greatest to ever turn on their laptops.
To become a multiple time World Champion.

Coach Rockson
It's an exclusive club.
The Ring of Champions.
Covfefe, SCGD, the T.C. Titans and ourselves.
Our four Fantasy Managers have ever had the honor to call themselves Champions.
And on Sunday, I intend to keep it that way.

Coach Rockson
We still have one more game to play.
But before we start our last practice of the season.
I wanted to hand out a couple of awards to show my appreciation for the team.
The award for Senior Citizen of the Year goes to... Larry Fitzgerald!

Coach Rockson
The award for Most Improved players goes to.... Alex Collins!

Coach Rockson
This next award is for the Player That Had the Most Opportunity to Score... But Didn't.
And that award goes to... Emmanuel Sanders!
Congratulations!

Coach Rockson
And of course... last but not least.
MVP!
Drew Brees!

Narrator
With the season drawing to a close, the mood in Camp Rockson shifts from celebratory to serious.

Narrator
Opportunities to headline a show like FantasyMania don't come around too often.
Coach Rockson's three year absence in the playoffs is a stern reminder of that.

Narrator
When you get this far into the season, you only get one shot.
One opportunity.
To seize everything you ever wanted.
In one moment...
Will you capture it?
Or just let it slip?

Narrator
Early indications of Coach Rockson's gameplan seems to point towards the Flames going with the running back trio of Jordan Howard, Melvin Gordon and Alex Collins.
A surprising move for life long 49er fan, Coach Rockson, to keep Carlos Hyde on the bench.

Narrator
Another surprising move that could very well shape the course of the main event of FantasyMania is the addition of Greg Olsen.
After suffering a devastating injury at the hands of Balor earlier in the season.
The former Outlaw tight end was signed to the Flames earlier this week.
Having looked like his normal self in previous weeks, the reemergence of Greg Olsen could tilt the odds in the Flame's favor.

Narrator
If Devin Funchess can return to form... the Flame's wide receiving core rounds out nicely as Drew Brees looks to light up the scoreboard on Sunday.

Narrator
Veteran wideout and future hall of famer, Larry Fitzgerald knows all about seizing opportunity.
With possibly one last chance at winning a Championship, Larry Fitzgerald takes nothing for granted.
Coach Rockson has been on record stating that he wants to send Larry out on top.

Narrator
In Camp Mean Machine, it's all smiles as Coach Jesse makes his FantasyMania Main Event debut.
With Carson Wentz at practice, spirits are high as near Sunday's finale.

Coach Jesse
They're count us out again.
Vegas has us behind, but we've been underdogs all season long.
Save the best for last, we just have to play the best game of the season.
Last game of the year, can't hold anything back now.

Narrator
With restored confidence in their Quarterback, Blake Bortles...
The Mean Machine's theme is simple.
Get the job done.

Narrator
Having disappointed fans of the Mean Machine is years past, many critics would state that Coach Jesse has never fulfilled his potential in the West Coast Cousins.

Narrator
As one of the founding Fantasy Managers in the West Coast Cousins, Coach Jesse and the Mean Machine found early success in the league appearing in FantasyMania in the first two seasons of the West Coast Cousins.
However, early playoff exits and a 3 year absence of the playoffs have led many to believe that Coach Jesse will never get the monkey off his back.

Narrator
2017 has undoubtedly been Coach Jesse's best year, having finally knocked off the T.C. Titans in the playoffs and reaching the Championship Game.
But for Coach Jesse, reaching the Championship Game simply isn't enough.
For Coach Jesse, it's League Championship or bust.

Coach Jesse
Alright, settle down.
I've got a quick announcement to make and then we'll get on with it.
We've got one game left.
60 minutes to show the world why we're the best.
I need 110% effort from everyone on Sunday.
If we do that, we'll be alright.
With that said, I have a special treat for you guys.
I've been waiting all week to tell you guys this...
But I've got a hold of something very special....

Coach Jesse reveals a glowing blue orb.

Blake Bortles
T-th... that's a.... Fantasy Stone!
Be careful!
Do you know what that thing can do?!

Coach Jesse
I know what it can do, Blake

Blake Bortles
Then why did you bring it here?!
We can't possibly control an element as powerful as a Fantasy Stone!

Coach Jesse
We can now...
We can contain that power of the Fantasy Stone with...

Coach Jesse
The Star in Dallas.

Ezekiel Elliott
Let's eat.

Narrator
Among the wall of fame....
Four Champions stand above all.
Covfefe, SCGD, Coach Rockson and Coach Ken.
Considered by many as the Elite Four of the West Coast Cousins.
The only four Fantasy Managers that have the right to call themselves League Champions.

Narrator
But every so often, a challenger comes along.

Narrator
A force designed to challenge the status quo.

Dolph Riggler
John Seana has never faced an opponent like me before.
And he's going to feel it on December 24th.
John Seana doesn't have what it takes.
He'll never be League Champion.
If he wants the title, he's going to have to take it from my dead body.

Narrator
Through trial and error, the destination for Coach Jesse has been a trying one.
But one that has led him to this point in time.
One win away from entering the history books.

Narrator
For Coach Rockson, Sunday is an opportunity to hold onto what is most dear to him.
Respect.
To solidify himself as one of the greats and join his fellow Champions as a multi League Champion.

Narrator
The story of every Fantasy Manager's career is driven by a wide range of factors.
Fury.
Family.
And Fate among them.

Narrator
Every game that they approach is a product of those dynamics.

Narrator
Every game, an opportunity to add to their story.

Coach Jesse
We'll see what Coach Rockson and the Flames can do.
We'll find out for sure.
Because he's going up against the best Fantasy Team in the world today.

Coach Jesse
That FantasyMania streak means nothing to me.
All it takes is one and nobody will ever talk about it again.
As far as I'm concerned, he's 0-0 against me at FantasyMania.

Narrator
With every thing on the line, the two Fantasy Teams stand unwavered with the task at hand.
In two rounds of Fantasy Football and four games between the two of them, these two Fantasy Teams have found only victory.

Narrator
On Sunday, the truth will find them.

Narrator
Who will be the last man standing?

Narrator
Who will do what it takes to get the job done?

Narrator
In 72 hours, these two teams clash in the FantasyMania Finale.
Two opposing forces, standing on opposite ends of the spectrum, leaving it all on the football field.
Determined to do one thing and one thing only....
Become the 2017 League Champions.
