we open on the interior of Manhattan Criminal Court.

In the trial of the State of New York vs. Nathaniel Richards, we have come to a decision.

As I understand, after much deliberation, the jury has come to a verdict.

Right, then will the defendant please rise and face the jury

as the verdict is read?

In the case of State of New York vs. Nathaniel Richards,

as to the count of third degree domestic violence,

we the jury find the defendant - guilty.

*Crowd Gasps*

Mr. Richards, a verdict has been determined by your peers.

I will listen to the recommendation from the prosecutors

as well as the facts that have been presented during your trial.

I will set a date for your sentencing, but in the meantime,

is there anything you would like to say at this time?

Your Honor, I would just like to say...

I am not suicidal.

I am innocent. And I am not suicidal.

If I did this, then it means that I stuck my fist in the fears of black Americans

in this country for over 400 years and the fears of the LGBT community.
