Week 15 Recap: FantasyMania Round 1

Jim Ross
WELCOME TO FANTASYMANIA XIII!
As we come into the stretch run of the Storyline Era,
we welcome you to the greatest spectacle in our industry!
The FantasyMania playoffs are here and we are in the sold out
Metrodome in Minneapolis, Minnesota!
We are at capacity with 55,000 screaming fans in attendance
on their feet for what will surely be an unforgettable night of Fantasy Football.

The FantasyMania XIII pyros explode as
we pan across the stadium.

King
I thought this place was a dome, JR.
What happened to the roof?

Jim Ross
Well it appears as if the West Coat Cousins have blown the roof
off the building as we get started here at FantasyMania.

Jim Ross
Good evening folks and thank you for joining us on this historic night.
Jim Ross alongside Jerry "The King" Lawler,
and King, what a slate of matchups we have here tonight.

Jim Ross
Stone Cold Steve Pupstin takes on John Seana
as these two Fantasy Managers will face off for the third time this season.
John Seana has gotten the upper hand on both occassions,
but if I know Stone Cold, he's going to give everything
he's got to upset the 3rd seeded John Seana.
We now go live to Todd Grisham who is standing by backstage.

Todd Grisham
Ladies and gentlemen... joining me at this time.
The WCCF Champion... John Seana!

*Crowd Boos*

Todd Grisham
John, we see you carrying around the spinner belt and
we know you as the current WCCF Champion.
But a couple of weeks ago on Preview, Baugh revealed that
that he did not in fact the original WCCF Championship belt over the river
and now Single H is carrying about that belt.
I would first like to ask you what your thoughts are on that,
and then how you are feeling about tonight's playoff matchup?

John Seana
Well, Todd. Since I'm going to be here for a while,
I might as well come talk to you.
That's right, I'm not going anywhere.
I'm stuck here in standard definition, pixelated 240p television.
There's no smartphones, there's no Bluetooth,
airpods, Facebook isn't even a thing.
No social media, video games still have bad graphics.
What's not to love about being stuck in 1999, Todd?

Todd Grisham
I'm sorry, John.
I'm afraid I'm not following here.

John Seana
That's okay, Todd.
All of those wonderful technologies will come in time.
For now, I've got to make the most of what I have.
I've got to enjoy the nostalgia of the late 90s and early 2000s.
Hell, my favorite musical era is about to come.
G-Unit will be here in a few years.
That's where my entire gimmick comes from, Todd.

John Seana
But you know what? I won't confuse you with the details.
The fact is, I'm not going anywhere.
This is the here and now for me.
And you know what? I've never won a League Championship.
All of this talk about how I came up just short last season,
well here is my opportunity to put that all behind me.

John Seana
Single H wants to walk around with the original WCCF Championship.
Well, as the field begins to whittle down,
eventually that Championship belt is going to come back into play.
And when it does, I'll be ready for it.
So let's get down to brass tacks here.

John Seana
Stone Cold Steve Pupstin.
I respect what you've done in your career.
A 3x League Champion, Yahoo Diamond Status,
placing in the Top 3 in 8 out of the last 12 seasons.
You're a legend of the Fantasy Sports world.
You've got all the accolades for a Hall of Fame career in the WCCF.

John Seana
But here's the thing, Jack.
As great as you are and as big of an impact as you have had,
at the end of the day, when the lights are on and the bell is rung,
you're just another man.
Another man that's standing in my way of becoming
the WCCF League Champion.

John Seana
Once that bell rings, you and I, we have 60 minutes
to do whatever it takes to come out on top.
We have 20 by 20 square feet to work with in that ring.
And with every inch of my body,
I'm going to do whatever it takes to undo The Deportation.
To undo the stench that's been hanging over my head since last season.
Stone Cold, I am the 73-9 Warriors who blew the 3-1 lead.
And you, you're just another Fantasy Manager
that's in the way of my opportunity to restore my legacy.

John Seana
Steve, I have 3 wins to get the job done and this is #1.
And when I step foot in that ring with you,
I know exactly what I'm getting into.
You're gonna give me one hell of a fight and I expect nothing less.
But trust me when I tell you, I will throw everything I have at you.
Because Pupstin, it's like I said.
I give you all the respect in the world...
but unfortunately for you... your time is up, and my time is now!

Jim Ross
Well, that is about as fired up as I have ever seen, John Seana.
A legacy defining match for that young man.
John Seana vs. Stone Cold still to come...

Jim Ross
But up next, we are in for one hell of a treat.
The 4th seed, Chris Vinson takes on #5, Single H!
We take you to ringside for the Fantasy Manager entrances.

WCCF Playoff Match
[4] Dalvin's Cookout (8-6)
vs.
[5] Dollar Discount Team (8-6)

*Single H's Music Hits*

Lillian Garcia
Introducing first, by way of Seattle, Washington.
Making his 9th FantasyMania appearance,
with a Professional FantasyMania record of 8 wins and 6 losses.
He is a former 3x League Champion, The Game....
SINGLE HHHHHHH!

Jim Ross
A pioneer in this Fantasy League, as he makes his walk to the ring,
there is no doubt about it.
Single H is on the shortlist when you talk about
the greatest Fantasy Managers of all time.
The Cerebral Sandwich has defied all odds to get to this point.

Jim Ross
After a terrible showing in this year's draft,
many assumed that Single H's pursuit of a 4th Championship
was out of the question.
But here he is, playing in this 9th FantasyMania
looking to take down the first time playoff manager, Chris Vinson.

King
Well, there's no question, JR.
When it comes to the experience factor,
Single H has Vinson beaten by a mile.
When you play at FantasyMania, it's a different level of intensity.
I'm not so sure Chris Vinson is ready for what's about to happen.

*Chris Vinson's Music Hits*

Lillian Garcia
And his opponent, making his FantasyMania debut.
From San Francisco, California...
The Master of Re-Invention, The God of War... Y2V...
CHRIS VINNNNNNNSON!

Jim Ross
An opportunity of a lifetime for Chris Vinson.
If he can knock off a former League Champion
in his first FantasyMania match in this league,
it would go a long way for Vinson to carve out his own legacy
here in the West Coast Cousins.

Jim Ross
You can feel the energy in the arena shift.
There isn't anything quite like a WCCF Playoff Match.
Single H and and Chris Vinson about to get it on!
A sold out capacity crowd,
who will advance to the Semi-Finals of FantasyMania?!

The bell rings and we are underway.

The Game and Y2V feeling each other out in the opening minutes.

The returning Chase Edmonds, 5.30 from the Cardinals RB.

Single H, sending Vinson for a ride.

Jim Ross
What an athletic maneuver by Vinson,
sending Single H out by ringside.

Jim Ross
Action spilling outside now.
Right hands by Chris Vinson.

D'Onta Foreman producing big, 13.50 against Single H.

Jim Ross
Walls of Vinson!
Single H is in serious trouble.
He could tap any moment now.

King
Hold on, Single H!

Jim Ross
Look out!
Stephaneah from behind, saving Single H!

King
Careful Stephaneah!

Jim Ross
Oh my! I think the fans in the nosebleeds heard that slap!

Vinson goes in with the steel chair, but Single H counters!

1..2...KICKOUT!

Jim Ross
Vinson getting the upper hand now!
Family Tree on Single H!
Yahoo predicts Single H with only a 28% chance of victory on Sunday Night.

Jim Ross
Not sure if this is a wise move, Vinson should go for the pinfall...
high risk maneuver oh wait!
Shane McMahon with the distraction!
Sending Vinson crashing into the canvas!

Jim Ross
And Stephaneah just threw the damn belt in the middle of the ring!
The WCCF title belt!

King
Get it, Single H! Get it!

Jim Ross
Stephaneah trying to get his attention.
There's a damn weapon in the ring!

King
That's not a weapon!
That's rightfully his title.

Jim Ross
It actually belongs to Seana, if we're being technical here.

Jim Ross
Single H going for that belt now...
OH WAIT A MINUTE!
Vinson got to it first!
OH! A BELL RUNG TO THE HEAD!

Jim Ross
Vinson just laid out The Game!
And Stephaneah is in shock!

Jim Ross
Vinson is advancing to the Semi-Finals!
1-2... KICKOUT!

Jim Ross
Single H kicks out and now Vinson sending him into the ropes...
counter by The Game!
This is an extremely close matchup on Tuesday night.
A back and forth affair that is coming down to the wire!
Single H goes for the cover... 1..2... KICKOUT!

Jim Ross
The Cerebral Sandwich growing frustrated with the officiating...
and he takes it out on Earl Hebner!
Wait a second! Spinning heel kick by Vinson!
DK Metcalf does just enough with 5.20 on Tuesday Night!

Jim Ross
And now the Lionsault!
The Game is down!
1-2-3!

Winner via Pinfall and ADVANCING to the Semi-Finals:
Dalvin's Cook Out

Jim Ross
My God! By the skin of his teeth, Chris Vinson has done it!
Winning his debut playoff match and
defeating 3x League Champion, Single H!
Antonio Gibson with the hot start,
but he seemed to slow down after the injury.
Vinson barely squeaks by into the next round
winning 80.26 - 78.00!

King
I think Single H is just realizing what happened.
This is terrible, JR.

Jim Ross
Single H's dream of becoming the first 4x League Champion
comes to an end tonight.
It was an amazing turnaround season for The Game,
but this is as far as his story will go, losing in the first round.

Jim Ross
Meanwhile Vinson, taking the original belt with him.
It is yet to be determined whether he will face SC Lesnar or Rock Michaels
in the second round depending on the outcome of Pupstin vs. Seana.
But what a hell of a match put on by Chris Vinson.
Tonight he will celebrate as we wait to determine the next matchup for Chris Vinson.

Jim Ross
For Single H, this is the end of the road.
He won 3 titles before the Storyline Era and now perhaps
with the ending of storylines, Single H will look to continue
his pursuit for a 4th title next season in the Post Storyline Era.
We look forward to seeing the next chapter of Single H's career in the WCCF.

Backstage Segment

We cut backstage to Donald Trump on the phone.

*Crowd Cheers*

Donald Trump
It's ridiculous how I'm being treated here.
I was invited to be the Host of FantasyMania,
but Vince doesn't have the class to serve me any food.
He doesn't get me a sandwich, no drinks, nothing.
What kind of Fantasy League is he running here?

King
It's The Donald, JR!

The Boogeyman appears from behind.

Donald Trump
You know what we're going to do?
We're going to straighten this out next week on Preview.
Vince McMahon is going to have to answer to me!

The Boogeyman
afhjkhjaskfashjkdwqdj!

Donald Trump
Ah, finally.
A errand boy is here.
Fetch me something to drink. Will you do that for me, boy?

The Boogeyman
ghanagdhasjwadbojik!

Donald Trump
Oh gosh, please tell me you speak English.
English, do you speak it?
Oh, boy are we in trouble.
We really have to get rid of people like you.
Someone's got to do it.
It's a messy business, but someone has to get the job done.

Jim Ross
I have no idea what's going on backstage with Donald Trump,
but it is now time for our main event of the evening.
Stone Cold Steve Pupstin vs. John Seana.
We just saw one 3x League Champion go down,
will there be another?
This is one hell of a matchup upcoming
as we are just moments away from determining the Final Four.
Stone Cold vs. John Seana coming up next!

WCCF Playoff Match
[3] John Seana (9-5)
vs.
[6] Look like I lost (7-7)

*Stone Cold Steve Pupstin's Music Hits*

Lillian Garcia
Introducing first, he is the 6th seed.
Making his 10th FantasyMania appearance.
Holding a Professional FantasyMania record of 11 wins and 6 losses.
From San Francisco, California...
the Texas Rattlesnake... STONE COLD STEVE PUPSTIN!

*Crowd Cheers*

Jim Ross
He is the winningest FantasyMania manager in the WCCF.
He has made a career out of big moments lik these.
With the most playoff appearances of any Fantasy Manager in the league,
there is no question that Pupstin performs when the lights shine brightest.

Jim Ross
He is made for the big stage.
And tonight may just be another day in the office for Stone Cold.

King
There is no doubt about it.
These fans love Stone Cold.

Jim Ross
Just take a look at the amount of camera flashes.
These people came out to see Pupstin.
But the question remains, can Pupstin cap off the
final season of storylines with a 4th League Championship?
In order to do so, he's going to have to get past this next Fantasy Manager.

*John Seana's Music Hits*

Lillian Garcia
And his opponent...
making his 7th FantasyMania appearance.
With a Professional FantasyMania record of 4 wins and 6 losses.
He is the current WCCF Champion, from San Francisco, California...
JOHN SEEEEEEANA!

*Crowd Boos*

Jim Ross
John Seana has been on a tear as of late.
And dating back to last season, he has become one of the top
contenders in the West Coast Cousins.
If there is any criticism for Seana,
it's that he hasn't played his best when it comes to the playoffs.
With 13 seasons in the WCCF, he has yet to win the big game.
Still without a League Championship,
there is a lot of question on whether on not Seana
has what it takes to get to the top of the mountain.

King
Listen to this crowd, JR.

Jim Ross
It is a mixed crowd.
Some chanting for Pupstin, others chanting for Seana.
A dream match to end all dream matches.
A clash of generations!
Stone Cold and John Seana about to do battle with the winner
advancing to the Final Four of FantasyMania XIII!

Crowd
LET'S GO SEANA!
SEANA SUCKS!
LET'S GO SEANA!
SEANA SUCKS!

The bell rings and we are underway!

Jim Ross
Right hands by Seana to start,
but Pupstin counters with a kick to the midsection,
sending Seana to the turnbuckle.

Jim Ross
Pupstin stomping a mudhole into the chest of Seana.

Harrison Butker with 8 points as Pupstin drops
Seana with a suplex off the top rope!

Jim Ross
A big elbow from the Rattlesnake!

But DeVante Parker goes for 12.80 for the SeaNation Leader.

Jim Ross
John signaling for the 5 Knuckle Shuffle!
But Pupstin counters!

Headlock from the 3x League Champion,
Seana beginning to fade...
but with raw willpower, Seana breaks free!

Shoulder blocks from the WCCF Champion,
Seana beginning to take momentum.

Mark Andrews explodes for 25.60,
as Seana lands the 5 Knuckle Shuffle!

Pupstin is in serious trouble now,
down big heading into Monday.

But not giving up just yet!
Miles Sanders goes for 14.60 on Tuesday Night.

Jim Ross
He's got quite the ground to make up,
but if there's anyone who can score in bunches, it's Stone Cold.

Jim Ross
Springboard Stunner!
Seana giving Pupstin a taste of his own medicine!

King
John is busting out all the moves!
We've never seen these maneuvers before.
1...2.. Kickout by Pupstin!

Jim Ross
Pupstin appears to be a day late and a dollar short,
Seana setting up for the Attitude Adjustment!
1-2-3!

Winner via Pinfall and ADVANCING to the Semi-Finals:
John Seana

Jim Ross
A huge win over the former League Champion,
John Seana defeats Stone Cold to move onto the Final Four
for the 2nd straight year.
He has been red hot to close out the year.
And now he has Rock Michaels to look forward to.

Jim Ross
Meanwhile, Pupstin just catching his bearings.
The quest for 4 League Championships ends for Pupstin.
Without a doubt, a valiant effort for Stone Cold.
A storied career in the WCCF comes to an end tonight.

Jim Ross
On the grandest stage of them all,
Stone Cold's season comes to an end.
But as one of the greatest Fantasy Managers of all time,
there is no doubt the legacy he leaves behind.

King
Wait a minute... what's gonna happen now?

Jim Ross
Pupstin offering his hand to Seana.
A sign of mutual respect between these two competitors.

Steve Pupstin
Go win it all.

Jim Ross
And now the celebration begins.
Stone Cold toasting to the WCCF Champion, John Seana.

*Crowd Cheers*

Jim Ross
For Seana, the journey continues.
The big question remains, can Seana get the job done?
He has had the monkey on his back for years,
he said it earlier, he just needs to win 3 more games.
He got the 1, now he just needs 2 more.

Pupstin begins to leave the ring as
Seana continues to celebrate.

He returns backstage to his locker room,
opening the door, but only to find someone waiting for him.

Steve Pupstin
What in the hell?
I just saw you out there, how did you get back here already?

Steve Pupstin
God damn, son.
What in the hell happened to you?

John Seana
Pupstin.

John Seana
I need your help.
