Week 8 Recap: Covfefe vs. Justin's Team

Singles Match
Justin's Team vs. Covfefe

Det. Tai
Do you know why we brought you in today, D'justin?

D'justin Barksdale
No.

Det. Tai
Brad Bellick, star witness in your murder case earlier this year, was found dead this morning.
Brad testified against you, but shit.
You still beat us after your cousin flipped the other witness.

Det. Tai
Look at him. He doesn't even care.

Michael Thomas
Sure don't.
That man was a citizen,
doing nothing but going to work when he saw you shoot and kill William Gant.

D'justin Barksdale
Where my lawyer at?

Det. Tai
We called him, when he arrives, we'll let you know.

D'justin Barksdale
Then I ain't got nothing to say,
I mean, I'm sorry for the man, but I ain't got nothing to say.

Michael Thomas
You're sorry?
You fucking killed the man.

D'justin Barksdale
No.

Michael Thomas
Yes you did.
I mean, we don't think that you shot him or anything.
But if you weren't so busy lighting folks up at Mayweather's Boxing Club,
he ain't coming out of the elevator seeing it happen.

Det. Tai
He doesn't see anything happen, and he doesn't testify.
He doesn't testify, his skull isn't splattered across the pavement.

D'justin Barksdale
Well why did he testify?

Det. Tai
How the fuck should we know?

D'justin Barksdale
Well he ain't have to testify.

Det. Tai
No, but he did.
And you still beat the charge, didn't you?
But that wasn't enough.
It wasn't enough to beat the murder.
Your cousin, Jesse, had to send a message to everyone in the league.
See. That's what I don't get about the drug game.
Why can't you sell the shit, and walk the fuck away?
Every thing else in the country gets sold without people shooting each other.
Why not the drug game?

D'justin Barksdale begins to crack.

Det. Tai
Innocent lives lost everyday because of the drug trade in America.
Children and families, torn apart over shit they had nothing to do with.
Victims caught in the cross fire.
Remember that boy last year who was killed in the barber shop?
Hit with a stray over some bullshit argument over a $20 haircut.
6 year old boy, instead of getting his first hair cut,
he gets one in the eye.
You remember that?

D'justin Barksdale
That was fucked up...
They ain't have to do that..
That man... it was just... my thing.
They ain't have to do that.

Det. Tai
How about your write a letter to Brad's kids?
Letting them know how sorry you are that their daddy died.

D'justin's lawyer, Maurice Levy arrives on scene and enters the interrogation room.

Maurice Levy
What the fuck?!
Stop writing. Now.

D'justin Barksdale
I was just...

Maurice Levy
Shut up.
He calls his lawyer, that's supposed to be the end of the interview.

Michael Thomas
Your client didn't give a statement and we took no statement.
He just decided to voluntarily write a letter.

Maurice Levy
Any charge here?

Det. Tai
No charge.

Maurice Levy
Get up. We're leaving.

Maurice Levy
You don't say anything. You don't do anything.
You don't write anything.
Shut up.
How many times do I have to tell you people to do the same fucking thing?

Winner via Pinfall: Covfefe

Covfefe improves to 5-3 and appears on track for a playoff berth.
He'll need to string together a couple of more wins in the second half of the season.
Meanwhile, D'justin continues to drop and will need a serious turn around to salvage the season.

Det. Joyce
You know, I'm reviewing everything we have on The Greek...
And I'll be honest.
We don't got shit on him.
A name, a description...
Our only lead is the blue meth and Prop Vinny.
Everything we've done this season, McLuu, Minh and myself...
We've had a lot of success early on in the first half of the season.
I can't help but think back to the Barksdale case.
Had we gone through with it, I'm sure we would have him down to rights by now.

The Baugh
Don't worry about Barksdale.
Our main priority is The Greek right now.
I have an ace up my sleeve when it comes to Barksdale.

Det. Joyce
Care to elaborate?

The Baugh
Let's just say, I have an undercover agent already implanted within the Barksdale organization.
A black-ops operative in training ready to take down Barksdale.
He's not a corner boy.
He's one of mine.
Codename: Killmonger

Across the city, Erik Stevens and Devonta Freeman are looking for something to eat.

Erick Stevens
Nah bruh, everyone know Vibranium is stronger than Adamantium.

Devonta Freeman
You crazy.
Wolverine would beat the brakes off of Black Panther.

Behind Stevens and Freeman, is Jimmy Graham.
The starting tight end for first place Victor Oumar.

Devonta Freeman
Yo. That's him.
One of Oumar's boys.

Erik Stevens
Yo, come with me.
We're gonna call Stringer.

Erik Stevens pages Kenneth Bell alerting him to come to the scene.

Kenneth Bell
Get me to a payphone.
We getting a 911 call from one of the corner boys.

Kenneth Bell
He still in there?

Erick Stevens
Yeah. He playing Pac-Man.

Kenneth Bell
You sharp. What's your name?

Erick Stevens
Erick.

Kenneth Bell
Alright y'all.
This is our chance.
Cooks, I want y'all out back.
Kamara, we gonna wait out front until he leaves.
When he get out, we'll take him.

Winner via Pinfall: #7tormsComing

The Baugh's undercover operative, Erik Stevens,
makes the call to give Victor Oumar his second loss on the season.
The Baugh moves up the 4th place, improving to 4-4.
